Colour and Texture on The Devil's Chair

The Stiperstones is a high ridge in south Shropshire dominated by a number of rocky tors surrounded by scree and heathland. The Devil's Chair is one such tor, and as the name suggests there is a wealth of local folklore linked to this eerie place.

Whilst spending a windy afternoon up on the Stiperstones I was keen to try and capture the feel of the place, something I didn't think a traditional landscape shot could do justice to. So I reverted to a favoured technique of mine, using close-up shots to highlight the colour and texture of the place and present them in a collage.

Having said all that I did take some traditional landscapes and I've include some here, if nothing else to add context.
