Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery using resin and gold. Rather than try to hide the repair, this technique celebrates the damage, a philosophy which can be used in our own lives as well.

Donna, who runs Kintsugi Fusion, is a very talentented practitioner of this art and has adapted the technique to create some beautiful and unique items of jewellery, which I have had the privallage of photographing. (click on title above to view website)

This is an ongoing project of mine where I photograph artists in their studios. The title comes from the saying "a labourer works with their hands, an a craftsman works with their hands and head, but an artist works with their hands, head and heart.
